Area of Brain Associated with Spatial Awareness is Crucial to Decision Making
Researchers at the University of Chicago published a study in Nature addressing the role the posterior parietal cortex may have in decision making. In the study, the scientists studied the responses of trained monkeys to a pattern recognition computer game with and without their neural activity suppressed. This study identified a new avenue for understanding how our brain's analysis of the images we see affects decision making. These findings pave the way for further advances in understanding of how brain diseases can affect decision making.
