Twitter reveals how future-thinking Americans are and how that affects their decisions
Researchers at Emory University recently published a paper in PNAS examining the connection between future-sightedness and risky decision-making. In particular, the researchers analyzed a large dataset of Twitter messages in addition to experimental survey measures to find that longer future-sightedness corresponded with less risky decisions.
